He started playing music in Tyler in 1966 while in high school. His first band was the “Blue Souls. He was a drummer then, but later changed to playing guitar while attending Tyler Jr. College. His band at TJC was called “The Scarabs”, or a Beatle tribute band. He later attended Stephen F. Austin University and formed a fraternity band that won numerous talent contests and awards. He became a professional entertainer in 1972 while working in Dallas, TX, performing in various bands called “Solid Gold”, a disco band, “Double D”, a country band, “Ace and Edsels”, an oldies band, and “The Blues Browsers”, a classic rock and blues band and most recently “Double Take”, a classic rock, country and oldies duo band. He currently is performing in East Texas as a solo guitarist and vocalist utilizing studio backing tracks and Bose sound systems. He pays tribute to major recording artist of the 40’s- 80’s. h to go home. The Army base had a talent competition so Patrick entered his band. They won “first” place and Patrick was named “Entertainer of the Year”! He received a letter of commendation in his personnel file for outstanding dedication and commitment to his unit. Attending college at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX prepared Patrick for his next musical adventure. He taught himself how to play guitar while in college with help from his roommate and fraternity brothers. His efforts earned him and his band 3rd place in the “All Campus” talent contest. After graduation Patrick moved to Dallas, TX to pursue a career in technology sales. His travels introduced him to many cultures and musical styles in the United States and abroad. He watched the great entertainers at venues when he traveled and learned the art of “entertaining” while playing guitar and singing. Learning to play different genres of musical styles has helped Patrick adopt a “style” of his own. Patrick plays and sings top country and classic rock to timeless “oldies” and number one Top 40 tunes from the 40’s through the 90’s. He also plays music for various dance styles like the Rumba, Waltz, Jitterbug, Two Step, Swing, Tango, Foxtrot, Samba, Jive, Mambo, Paso Doble, Salsa, Polka, Break Dance, Hip Hop, Folk, Country and Western, Texas Push, Lindy Hop, etc. His influences come from many different artist including: Elvis Presley, Dion, The Platters, Willie Nelson, Mickey Gilley, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Ray Price, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, Frank Sinatra, Eddie Arnold, George Strait, Jerry Lee Lewis, Hank Williams, Sr., Hank Williams, Jr., Andy Williams, Bob Wills, Kenny Rogers, Charlie Rich, Roy Orbison, Ronnie Milsap, Freddie King, B B King, Merle Haggard, Bobby Darin, The Eagles, etc. etc. etc. As you see, Patrick grew up listening and emulating the best in the music business. With studio recorded “backing track cd’s” and a “state of the art” Bose Sound system, Patrick can entertain from 50 to 500 depending on the size of the venue and has equipment for “outside” gigs as well. Patrick currently entertains and performs for various retirement communities and local city functions around East Texas. He also performs for Class Reunions and company parties for Holidays and special occasions.

Today, Kay and I are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary! God has blessed us and never left us. I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful wife, friend and partner. I pray for many more years together.
Our new grandson Kennan Jackson Smith! Proud grandma and grandpa with Shay and Kristin. He's a beautiful boy. We so enjoyed being with them this weekend in Houston.
My Texas "Bluebonnet". MizKay! Thank you for a wonderful weekend in Galveston. I love you so much.
We had a great time in Galveston especially at Guidos! Always the best food and service with a great view.
Kay's mom, Judy, is in intensive care here in Tyler after suffering a heart attack. Thank you for your prayers as she struggles to regain her health.
God is good.....all the time.
