Pam's Story

I met my beautiful husband the fall of 1988 and shortly after my mother and father passed away, we moved to Austin, Texas and never looked back. He is a man of gorgeous strength, integrity, and our family is the most important thing to him. His spirituality is unwavered and I absolutely adore him. I had three children from previous marriages and one mis-carriage from my first marriage. Life started out confusing, hard, and my heart broken at a very early age followed by a few years of anger and rebellion. Had it not been for those experiences, my path would not have lead to my beautiful family I have now. My husband and I had twins, expanding our family to 5, the two of us, and multiple dogs along the way. I have three beautful grandsons from my two older daughters (ages 34 and 32), a 29 year old son who slipped into diabetic coma in 2004 resulting in irreversible brain damage of which I have cared for in our home for the past 3 years (he was diagnosed with Juvenile, Type I Insulin Dependent Diabetes when he was 7. That was the day I ran into Joni Kennetz - Spaeth? - , her husband and her young daughter in the hospital and will never forget the personal strength she carried with dignity). He is now 29 and has the mentality of an approximate 16 year old but has learned to feed himself, walk again and his vision has returned. Our twins turned 21 a few months ago and are both Juniors in College. My daughter is a Chemical Engineering Major at the University of Texas and scheduled her internship this summer and planning on obtaining her masters when she graduates next year. My son, (her twin brother) is a Theater major also in his Junior year, at St. Edward's University of Austin, with an emphasis on make-up and costume design. He has performed in several large community theater performances but his strengths truly lie in costume design and makeup. He is also planning on obtaining his masters following next years graduation. They are the love of my life and most people in our community have either heard of them or know them per...Expand for more
sonally. I have appeared on our local news stations several times recognizing student programming I have directed, and I am sure my family is glad to see their mother is no longer in the public eye. :) My husband and I have owned a landscaping business for 17 years. He is a workhorse and likes to be involved in the business and labor part of the business. Living in Texas creates for a great tan for him! While caring for my disabled son, I have found my love of costuming and that is quite possibly where my son took on his interest, and have found it financially lucrative around halloween time and seasonal events. Last year I accepted the Costume Manager position for one of the largest haunted houses in the U.S. The House of Torment in Austin, Texas has been featured on the National Geograqphic Travel Channel as one of the top five. It was an experience to say the least and I found myself wanting to be a kid again -haha. I have found myself lately, thinking of so many of you, and have prayed that all of you are doing well. I have heard of some deaths of our classmates and it is humbling for sure. I have had wonderful learning experiences in life, was able to put gossip and ill-found rumors aside, worked with Sting, Ricky Nelson, Marie Osmond, Dick Clark and his beautful wife and many more entertainers that allowed me the incredible opportunity to host them while performing years ago in Saint Paul. Aside from my husband and children, those will be the most treasured memories of all times. Enough for a lifetime. Some of you have tried to reach me recently. I am on Facebook and that is my means of social networking. Pamela Andrews Rausch -- google it and let me friend you. If nothing else, you can see pics of my family and my gorgeous gardens and awesome dogs! Though I could have said much, much more, it is my life as I know it now that matters. With God's grace, I have reached what many could not or will not. God Speed and Facebook me :). It was a pleasure having all of you a part of my young, uninformed life - LOL!
