Pamela's Story

Life Updated 11/2/8 My Pets I have a labrador retriever/chow mix. He turned 3 y/o in Oct. of 2000 and is named "Bear." He's a fantastic dog that makes my life a little more interesting and fun.(I'm sad to say Bear passed away in Aug 08). In 2001 I acquired a second dog named "Brodie." She's a chow/?? mix and loves water. I buy her a small wading pool every summer so she won't tip over the water bucket in an effort to keep cool. About a month ago I adopted a Chow/Australian Shepherd puppy who I've named Jake. He gets along well with Brodie and it's so much fun watching them play together. My Kids My youngest, a boy, is 23 y/o and stands at 6'5" tall. After 4 years of living in Detroit with his father, he returned to Phoenix (2004) for his final year of high school. Since graduating from HS he is going to college part time and works full time for the state of Arizona. UPDATE(12-27-09) My son shipped out to Marine basic training on 12-7-9. I'm very proud of him for deciding to serve his country through the military. While stationed in Korea (1974), I adopted a 12 y/o girl who is now in her 40"s... My grandson is 19 y/o, going to DeVry University, in Phoenix, AZ, and works full time. Since I've remarried (see below) I have 3 more daughters. The youngest, at 16, is a Sophmore in HS. She recently earned her red belt in Taekwondo and is now working hard to achieve her 1st degree black belt. The middle one is 26 and a combat medic in the US Army. Her...Expand for more
dad and I are both military vets and are very proud of her accomplishments and her decision to serve our country. UPDATE (12-27-09) This year she married, reenlisted and will be moving to a new post (with her husband) sometime after the first of the year. Last but not least is the oldest at 28. She is married to a great guy and so far has two children. She's very environmentally conscious and has created a non profit organization that does clean-ups around the state and emphasizes recycling. I AM TRULY A BLESSED WOMAN!! My Job I worked for Arizona Highways Magazine (part of the AZ Dept of Transportation) for 7 years, however my position was outsourced last year and I went to work for the AZ Department of Economic Security/Family Assistance in September 2007. I was able to relocate across town to be near my fiance, now husband. UPDATE (12-27-09) In July I reached the milestone of working for the state of Arizona for 10 years. I'm happy to say that after being divorced for 8 years I married a truly wonderful man in Nov 2007. He lived about 50 miles from me and we'd have never met had it not been for eHarmony. UPDATE(12-27-09) We celebrated our 2nd anniversary this year. Bill & I grow closer all the time and I've come to know what it really means to find my soul mate. Military I had a great time the 12 years I was in the AF. Meeting people from all over the world was a wonderful experience. Most of my time was spent at Luke AFB so most of the people I remember were from there.
