Pam's Story
After high school I continued working and attended MPC. I received an AA and a certificate of Achievement. Once I graduated, I started working for an oral surgeon. I continued to do that for a couple of years until I had my beautiful son. After he was born, I worked for a bank as a vault teller for about 5 years. After leaving the bank I worked doing accounts recievable for a magazine wholesaler in Sand city. After all of that, I started working for the County of Monterey as a Deputy Court clerk. I worked there for almost 8 years. LOVED working there... in court with the judges and attorneys as well as with the defendants and Bail Bondsmen. I Got married and divorced from a military man, then turned around and married a second man stationed at Ft. Ord. We had a beautiful daughter. When she was about 1 year old my husband had finished his tour of duty for the Army and left to return home to Texas. I stayed and continued to work for the court while my husband went to the Police Academy in his hometown. He got a job as a police office and I moved down here to start my life over. He is now 2nd in command in CID as a detective, but our personal life did fare to well...We got divorced within the first few years and the state of Texas says I can not leave Texas with my daughter(Gotta love Texas law. :)!
While I was stuck here in Texas my mother got Cancer and die...Expand for more
d. I was unable to be there to help her and be her rock like she had always been for me.
So, now I am stuck in Texas and I am still adjusting to it, even though I have been here 13 years! It is a whole other world down here. The weather is great though!
I Have run into a couple of people that I went to school with in Monterey that are also living down here and feel the same way about it as I do....It is HELL down here! Cindy in San Antonio, you know what I am talking about!!!
I recently lost my job as a Credit Admin/Accounts Receivable for a pretty large company here. I was let go and now have no job and finding it even harder to find one...even though I have over 20 years experience in the accounting field. So, if anyone is reading this and knows of any jobs ANYWHERE... feel free to let me know. :)
So, that is it pretty much it in a nut shell for me, other than the following thoughts....
Always take advantage of the opportunity to tell someone that you love them. Never take anyone for granted and cherish every moment with family and friends...You might not get a second chance. It is not good to "want" things you will probably never have and, when you have something good, dont let it go to look for something "better". So, to my friends that have stood by me through the good and bad times all these years... I love you!! And, you know who you are :)
