Pamela's Story
I am been married to my handsome husband, Jorge Garcia, since 2008. He graduated from our cross town rival school, Covina High, in 1966. He is a professional musician-composer-arranger-conductor. The joy of my life is watching his passion as he conducts.
I still live in Southern California, about 30 miles from Covina and five miles south of where the I-15 and 91 meet in Corona. I enjoy travel, reading, and going to concerts.
I was married for over 30 years to Cliff Loree. My husband was an Advertising Account Representative for Pacific Telesis Directory. He died in December of 2003.
I never thought in High School that I would grow to love athletics. I workout on a very regular basis, with my favorites being swimming, golf, aerobics, and weightlifting.
I love hearing from people, so please drop me a line if you get a chance. I am pretty good about answering my e-mail in a timely fashion.
I attended Lark Ellen Elementary and Las Palmas Junior High. After leaving Northview in 1969, I graduated from Glendora High in 1970. I always loved school. I guess I just enjoy learning.
As soon as I get tired with my current career, I plan to go into teaching. I found out just recently that they are desperately in need of teachers in the fields of science, math, and computers, and I should be able to get my teaching credentials with very little effort, given my educational background.
I completed undergraduate degrees in Police Science and Computer Technology in 1974 and 1976 respectively. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Cal State Fullerton in 1983 and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administrat...Expand for more
ion at University of California, Riverside in 1987. I completed my MBA degree with a concentration in Information System at Cal Poly Pomona in 1996. I plan to go back to school again in the very near future to complete a degree in Education. I also completed my PMP certification in 2007.
I have continued to take courses in various subjects all my life. I have taken coursework in such far-flung areas as Biblical Archaelogy, Accessibility Engineering, Karate, Forensic Science, Real Estate, and Genetic Engineering, as well as all the coursework I needed for my various degrees.
I will probably be a student the rest of my life, I just cannot imagine not taking classes in something.
I have worked in the field of Information Technology and Project Management Consulting and Software Engineering for over 20 years.
I have worked as a employee, consultant and/or contractor to Beckman Instruments, Far West Food Services (which owns restaurants such as Cocos, Carrows, Reubens),Disney Worldwide, ADP, County of Riverside, and the department of the Navy. I am currently working as a Project Coordinator for Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
I joined the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school. I served my basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina, and took my advanced training at the Millington Air Station base just outside Memphis, Tennessee. I served in the 2nd Marine Air Wing as an Avionics Technician speciaizing in the F-4J Phantom Jet.
I am glad I served and, if called back, I would go willing, but it was not exactly what I would call fun-and-games. I am delighted that my son followed in my footsteps.
