Pam's Story
Life
Six days after graduation, I married. Two and half years later I had a little red-headed girl, and four years after her I had a red-headed son. Six years after my son, I divorced. Of the twelve years mentioned, the best part were my children. One year after my divorce I met "Mr. Wonderful" Now I know that sounds too perfect, but the fact is...He is! We've been married for 19 years and still treats me like the day we met. I know I know....mushy, but oh so good.
We've lived in Grapevine, Texas for the last 17 years, and I own a beauty salon with 7 stylists. I decided not to rush into college so I waited 20 years after high school. I attended for 4 years attempting to get a degree in Commercial Music. Just as I was about to make it happen, the college killed the degree plan (because of the Robin Hood Act) and so I still don't have the silly thing. Oh well, I did learn a tremendous amount and used the knowledge to form a singing Trio called "IN Harmony" Now I can make...Expand for more
our performance tapes at home. We have sung all over the place and for various functions in the metroplex. Our biggest claim to fame was singing with Willie Nelson at Farm Aid V. in Texas Stadium. Now that was a real hoot. The best part of that day in Texas Stadium, was meeting all the great performers who participated in the event.
The trio and I still sing and in fact, we all work together. It's not uncommon to hear 3 part harmony coming from inside my Salon. We sing to our clients and they really love it. Instead of a Barber Shop Quartet, I have a Beauty Shop Trio!!! I have more fun at work than probably the rest of the world. Where else could I work where I can get my hair fixed, cut, shampooed, colored, and sing any time I please? Life's been good to me.
