Pam's Story
Life
Married since October 1987 to Ray (KM class of '82). We have one son, Cole, who's 16 and a Sophomore at Auburn Riverside High. We may have just one son but we also have another "boy" in residence. It's our English Bulldog, Dozer. He's adorable and weighs in at a crushing 67 lbs. I can officially say that I'm a DOG person now!
Ray & I are lucky to both live & work in Auburn. NO COMMUTE!! I've been at Superior Insurance Service for 20 years and Ray's at the City of Auburn where he just started his 5th year in the Maintenance Dept. Ironically, Ray works with two other AHS '83 alums - Micky Marquez & Steve Lockhart.
In the fall, we regularly attend Auburn Riverside football games. I taught Cole at an early age that his Mom will always be true to the green and gold. Since Riverside is one of the cross-town rival schools, it's necessary for me to switch between the Home & Visitor sides at half time during our rival Troy Field games.
We also enjoy watching Cole wrestle for the Ravens in the 125 lb. spot. He may be small but he's a scrapper! In the spring, it's all about baseball and camping at the Potholes, near Moses Lake. Cole played 2nd base and the outfield for ARHS and also for th...Expand for more
e Kent Bulldogs. In between baseball tourneys we spend most of our summer weekends in our RV. We stay at the O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort, which is between Potholes State Park & MarDon in Othello. Ray & Cole play lots of golf over there. Me, I've not played since a golf accident required surgery to repair a detached retina. For now, I'm good with just driving the golfcart around the resort & hanging out at the clubhouse.
I've kept in touch with fellow '83 alum, Renee (Carlton) & her Class of '84 hubby, Pete Zut. They've relocated and built a gorgeous place in Moses Lake. I also talk regularly to Leslie Courneya (Reichert), Shelley Nelson (Pierce), Kelly Pedrini (O'Grady) and Michelle Petroski (Binetti). Occasionally, I talk to Dave Amburgey, Traci Skinner (Piatt) and Karen Marez (Johnson). Funny, but all of the above are in the Auburn/Bonney Lake/Tapps area. They're CRAZY as ever!
Since my golfing accident and the loss of my fun-loving Dad in '05, it's really hit home that nothing means more than your family and friends. I hope this message finds my fellow '83 alums and other AHS classmates to be "Happy & Healthy". Don't be too shy to send an email. I'd love to catch up!
Cheers!
