Life
Pamela (Hughart)Nehls, attended Johnsburg my freshman year only, 1976, graduation year 1980. I returned to Virginia, after graduating in 1980 from Queensburg HS, remember North Creek fondly and my year spent there, wish that my daughter had had the opportunity to attend such a great school, everyone knew each other, can remember Mr. Riley quite fondly, he and his story of not only teaching us, but also the parents of the kids in the class, you don't have dedication from teachers like that now days. Don't miss the winters however, have returned for numerous visits over the years, hard to view the new town with all the tourists and the changes that have taken place in the town itself. Mrs Smith's restaurant, 27.00 for a steak. I did find on one of my visits, artist Tom Ryan, my business teacher from Queensburg HS, had done numerous train paintings from the town and had art displayed at the train station and at what was Nikki's family business and was bull dozed over and a new restuarant/bar had been built in it's location. Funny to see that Goody Goodspeed, had become the DA and now public defender, and his fight against teenage drinking, while we won't tell our kids what we did as teenagers, you know the saying. do as I say, not as I do. The rafting trips, tubing trips cutting up frogs in bio class. This June will be 25 yrs, how things have changed over the years.
Queensburg: attended 20 yr reunion, a few months after a serious auto accident that changed my life in many ways. I was on the BOD of the local Chamber of Commerce as well as many other political committees, with survival from this major accident, have furthered my political commitment to my community with my work with local state Senator and judges to work on the transportation committee and review of treatment to individuals and their families who were survivor of accidents in the county. nd how they affect not only the individuals from auto accidents but their families as well. Brain injuries accure so easily in our lifes, without much information about the health issue of brain injuries known to the public, worked on getting information to the public abt brain injuries and how they can change the life of the injuried but the lifes of those around them and how to maintain their life and new found difficulites of not being able to walk any longer or the simple functions that are part of our daily life that we take so readily for granted, until such an event takes place. Have successfully worked with local politicians on getting traffic patterns changed and closings of high inpack localities. Unfortunately getting the laws changed for punishment against the people who do not read, can not read or simply ignore traffic signals has not been as easy.
Have one daughter, who is 28 yrs of age, married and currently lives in Alabama. She is now (Oct. 2009)a mother of a little boy Tristan who is two years old and now a new little one London is was born 10/14/09, which makes me a grandmother of two.
Currently divorced (yes my life changed in many ways after the auto accident, with a brain injury, the act of sickness and health was far too much for my husband as brain injured people find out far too often).

Now living in Richmond, Virginia after my divorce, and have restarted a new wonderful life there. Enjoying the much warmer winters here, just moving south from Loudoun Co, Va., made such a difference in the winters. Miss the beauty of NY, and the fall colors, but certainly not the snow.
2009 saw travels to Gulf Shores, Al to visit my daughter and grandson, travel to Longmont Colo to visit my brother Rik (class of 1979), and travels to Norwich Ct to visit my mother.
