Pam's Story
Life
Hello- Well, for starters, I realized that I actually left Sequoyah in 1971 and moved to Hawaii and went to school there. I don't know how to change that to say I was only there until 1971. I ended up traveling around and doing fun jobs when I should of been going to college like the rest of you. I regret it in one way and in another way I have many good memories of my travels and met many good friends along the way. I did get married and settled down in Seattle and had 3 children. But I married a fisherman from Alaska and still traveled with the kids in tow. In fact, before children, I went out in the Bering Sea and went fishing for king crabs myself. I was a stay at home mom for years but always had several rental properties and was a landlord. After my youngest got to school, I started actually working at the schools my children went to. I decided to move to Alaska last year and now live in my duplex that I own. I sold all my rental properties but this one. I am also divorced now and a single mom. eally like my job. Alaska is a beautiful place! I keep thinking that one day I will run into someone who went to Sequoyah back when I did- up here in the Aleutian Islands for some job. I meet all kinds of people up here every day, from scientist studying the ducks to marine biologist studying the coral they just discovered up here. This is a very interesting place- Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Any of you ever been to the Aleutian Islands?
Now it's 2007. I am still here in Unlaska/Dutch Harbor. I now work for the city. I love it here. Very interesting place to live. Sometimes living in such a small community can be hard but then there are advantages to a small community that make it nice.
I had the pleasure of going to Atlanta last August and getting together with my old childhood friends Betsy, Patty G., Marybeth H. and Rhonda G. It was a great time! I didn't really see anyone else that I grew up with and to tell you the truth, if I had seen anyone in the store or anywhere, I wouldn't have known who it was anyway.
Anyone can email me and say hi.
