Pamela's Story

Hi everyone who may remember me. For all of us so many things have happened. My life has had the most incredible highs and the lowest of possible lows. Starting in our Jr year at good ol' Wilson High I began dating Bob Robertson. Some of you may remember us as a couple, we were pretty inseparable. It seemed to us that wonderful Mrs Burkhardt had it out for us. She would break up our hugs or kisses at least 2 or 3 times a week. Did she bother other couples or were we the only ones? Love to hear any other Burkhardt stories. Two yrs later Bob and I got married. I spent 10 yrs pregnant with our 5 beautiful children. Three handsome boys, two lovely daughters. Our marriage lasted 21 years (unfortunately, 3 strikes and he was OUT). Can't deny how tough this was but after about 8 yrs the feelings finally disappeared. One of those "aha moments" that feels so darn good when it finally happens. Such an incredible learning experience. Happy now NOT to have sadness or bitterness, just apathy. Called on the infamous cliche of making lemonade out of lemons often during this time. We didn't do it on purpose, but we named our children: Kevin,Craig,Kimberly,Kenneth and Carrie. Family and friends have teased me about this for years, but it was not intentional. Just loved the names. I was a stay at home mom until around 1985. Bookkeeper at Albertsons Grocery until 2002. They sold out in Vegas, so started a new career at Citibank in 2003. Oh, by the way, raised my family in Las Vegas starting in 1978. In spite of the nick name of "sin city" it is a fairly conservative community, full of good families, churches and a pretty good school system. I am eagerly awaiting my 14th, 15th and 16th grandchild during 2010. Lowest event in my life was the death of my oldest son, Kevin, Feb 1,2008. At least 2/3 of the last 2 yrs have been spent in tears. Without the love of the Lord and very supportive friends and family, I never would have survi...Expand for more
ved it without the love of LOYAL friends and family. My 4 surviving children have been a tremendous amount of strength without fail. My gratitude to them and other special family members is far too deep to elucidate. I will not even attempt to put into words the insane emotions this experience has caused. My wish for all of you that you will NEVER have to feel this indescribable pain, and if you have, my heart goes out to you. I too like so many of you feel that we lost two affective educators with the loss of Mr Bessie and Mr Kermode way too soon. If you remember me, I will admit to you that I am still outgoing, honest, loyal, incredibly beautiful, witty, heavy, full of integrity, have brown hair (thanks to Loreal), love sports just watching instead of playing, non-judgemental, love diversity, forgiving, easy going, in spite of Mrs Burkhardt still enjoy PDA. OKAY, I AM DONE, AND OH YEAH, I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT ONE OF THE THINGS ON MY LIST OF ATTRIBUTES MAY BE A LITTLE BIT EXAGGERATED Love to hear from any and all of you, if you feel so inclined. Life is short and precious, let's visit. Pam I always wanted to be a Mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a outspoken idea. As it turns out, they were right. My children!! They are bright and incredibly strong adults and raising strong families. I am very proud of all of them for the strength had to develop to get through a lot of rough times. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Chris Stevenson, because he was the best kisser I have ever experienced. (sorry Chris couldn't hold it in forever). My almost 16 grandkids!!!!! Reality tv, books on tape while driving on long trips. reading If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to Church, then spend the rest on grandkids, a home and travelling. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be boring. I was so completely correct!!! except me.
