Pamela's Story

Hi....Moved 1800 miles away from snow, cold, small minds....and it is lovely here, warm, sunshine most of the time and southern charm. I do have to say though that hurricanes are troublesome, particularly when they take your roof, your pool cage, your barn and send them miles and miles away , since Charley, Ivan, Jeanne and Frances (not sure the order) came through they came once a week just like a scheduled visit. Anyone ever want to hear that drama, give me note. Three Children, Heidi , Arcadia, Fl. An RN in trauma center, Gretchen , Elementary teacher in Tennessee. Kris, finding himself in Arcadia, Fl. Last couple of years have been hard, I was diagnosed with a terminal disease and Hospice has been my Godsend. Ironic, but I outlived my given timeline so now, I am in Pallative care and things are difficult to a degree, it is very hard to give up what you were and what you did and have to learn to be content with what you have. A life lesson, indeed. DOn't ever let any Doctor tell you how much time you have...we all know that there is only one that knows the time and day. Sure would like to hear from gentle, kind and authentic friends from high school. When they ask on the opening page, "who was cool in school", I can only think that cool=cruel. Never have been to a class reunion and never will, but there are so many people that I have wonderful memories of and those people that warm the heart are the ones I want to hear from I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderful idea. As it turns out, they were right. Swim, bury my head in a good book, meditate, pray, pray, pray....God and I ...we talk all day long One do over? Go to college first, have children second Yes, I do......Expand for more
Mrs James, our math teacher...without whom, I would never have made it out of my teenage years alive and well...she was the best part of my life, then The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Elsie James, because I loved her like a mother. obsessions...I don't believe I have any. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the porch and add on a wrap around porch. My dream home would be Pretty much have it now. Patience, love beyond comprehension, how to deal with annoyance, turbulence and hardest of all...how to let them go and be their own people If I won $100 million, I'd give I have had more than a million bucks of it to gave most to family, then spend the rest on friends, business and got screwed over royally. nope My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be together. I was so completely WRONG. My best friend would tell you I'm loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as brilliant. whew...no way...I love clothes and clothes stores love me I share my home with husband and sons, which I find too much testestrone. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by keep on keeping on. Sandy Salamone. She was always so sweet and kind...and her parents were wonderful to me. I loved her house, her farm...but mostly her My first job was at Eastside Nursing home, where I got paid 1.60 to 4.00. What I remember most about it is Sophie was totally out of her element....and should have never been in that line of work. I was working at Eastside Nursing Home, I was ready to go home and a gas tanker fell over on the East Hill and exploded....we all had to evacuate. I was walking home and saw the whole thing play out. WOW, Talk about frightening
