Pamela's Story
Life
I live in beautiful Lake Havasu City, Arizona. (home of the London Bridge) My favorite thing to do is to hang out by the pool overlooking the lake and listen to music and to watch the sunsets.
I took an early retirement from banking after I worked my way up to District Service Manager for now 'Chase Bank'. I love my life because I am able to supplement my pension by being an entertainer at the 3 top venues in this area. I play my Taylor T5 and sing jazz standards, classic love songs, and soft rock. It is sooooo much fun and these three places have kept me on board since 2010 to date (March 2019). We have some amazing musicians in this area that have become my friends. One was the bass player for Dave Mason and Chubby Checker back in the day. Another was the bass player for The Righteous Brothers....another worked with Patti LaBelle ..... another with Eric Burton and the Animals . They are all wonderful, humble, loving people and I'm blessed with such friends. A wonderful friend named Jamie Werner played a stand up bass and joined me at the Refuge Golf and Country Club gig every month on a Friday and Saturday night for a couple years. . He said he would play bass for me as long as I didn’t try to pay him or share the tips!! Seriously!!!
Kudos to those who had to courage to drive with me to all those out of town concerts at 120 mph in my '59' Chevy. You were brave souls. Remember the 'Gremlins' from Jamestown? I got to visit with Tim Ingstad when he was a DJ in Tucson (I lived there 10 years).
One person from my past who I'd like to hear from again is Joe Henderson. Does anyone know where he is? I'd also like to know what became of Steve Rakness because he was the best dancer in Minot! Thank you ... Thank you for dancing with me Steve. I'd love to talk to Glenda Christiansen and Connie Larson, and of course, you too Bill :) (Connie, where are you Miss Colorado 1974)? To Rod Marx, I almost had a heart attack when you walked up to me at the 7th grade school dance to ask me to dance...Expand for more
. I thought for sure you were heading for the beautiful Donna Wilson. To Larry Watson ... you broke my heart and you never knew the truth. To Larry Holwegner, you were a class act gentleman with great integrity. I will always admire and remember you. To Larry Johnson, you were my first crush in 3rd grade, but as I would later find out, my blonde girlfriends always seemed to win out. To handsome Greg DeMakis, thanks for letting me cruise around town with you in your 'hotrod' and for paying for my meal at 'Charlies' one Thurdsay night on my dinner break from work. To Ardyce Hutmacher and Linda Delong and Barb Mackley and Connie Larson, thanks for being such good friends to me. I wish you all the best as I remember many good times.
The 40th reunion was more fun than I ever imagined and I can’t wait for the 50th! (I hope more locals come out because we come a long way to see you). I loved seeing old friends and getting to know new ones. To June Reib, it is a good thing we didn't hang out together back then. We would have found waaaayyy too much trouble. But I love knowing you now my friend. To Wayne Christenson, we all missed seeing you there. To Doug Fuller .....SHEEZE .... I am going to kill my brother!!!! You looked great! To Jim and Susie Struckness, you guys are special!! To Bruce Vix, thanks for taking me dancing and for being my friend. I still find it hard to believe I made you cry in 1st grade by trying to kiss you. I think you coerced your mom to collaberate your story. :) To Todd Ballantyne, you made me laugh...and think. Loved that blue tie! We matched! To Bob Mackley, I wish we would have had more time to reminisce. Those parties in your basement in Junior High listening the the Beatles are fond memories. I think I made out on top of the washer/dryer with Pete Uthus??? To Deborah Miller and Vicki Grover, next time we HAVE to spend some quality time. To Ardyce Hutmacher, I wish you could have attended. I remember well the parties we had at your house.
Until later .... God bless!
