Pamela's Story
Life
After barbering in Detroit for 11 yrs, I joined the Navy. I was an aircraft mechanic for 11 yrs, & was medically retired. I am married to Mike Wilson and live in MD, where I work at the sewer & water utility. Mike and I share our home with two cats & two dogs. I am very involved with quilt making and locally active in animal welfare, Michael is a very active volunteer fire fighter and E.M.T.

After high school I went directly to Barber school.

Military
After Boot Camp in Orlando, FL, I went to Millington TN, for training as an Aircraft Hydraulics Mechanic. My first duty station was VP-17, based at Barbers Pt., HI. We deployed to Adak, AK, Cubi Pt. Philippines, and Midway Island. My next duty station was VQ-2 based in Rota, Spain. We deployed to Subic Bay, Crete, during Operation Desert Storm. I spent 2 short (3 month) detachments there. My last (unfortunately) duty station was Force Warfare at Pax River, MD. When I contracted Rheumatoid Arthritis I was medically retired after 11 years of service.
