Pamela's Story
Life
I was born and grew up in Walla Walla,and attended school with all of you grads of 1980 from Kindergarten through our Junior year. But my mother re-married and we moved away during my senior year,so I didn't technically get to graduate with you all.I was in all the choir groups and Stage band. I was a Cheerleader our sophomore and junior years, and vice-president of the pep club. I wasn't in any one clique or group, I seemed to have friends in all the groups. My senior year just wasn't the same without the beautiful campus, great teachers and cool friends like we had at ol' Wa-Hi. At the 10 year reunion, I was living in Hawaii (with my then Navy husband),so I wasn't able to attend, but I have missed everyone greatly.. I was married for 9 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, Katelyn and Kassidy. In 1999-2002 I went through a very painful, drawnout and expensive divorce and custody battle. I don't recommend that to anyone. My ex(who is still in the Navy)is currently living in Italy,and decided that he wanted to be single in Europe, so when he got his orders in 1999, he also filed for divorce and full custody, and won,temporarily.(The girls were 5 and 7 years old at the time) Being a non-working,stay-home mother doesn't win it these days,so I temporarily lost my two little girls. It is so sad that the world revolves around money and possesions more than the love and stability of a mother!!I was given 6 months to get moved from Hawaii back to the mainland and get a job, and then the girls would be returned to me, so they said...but, do you know how hard it is to track down kids that have been taken to Italy, and then given to other relatives.... a nightmare. Thank God for the Supreme Court Appeals and private investigators. I told you it was expensive. Come to find out, the kids were in North Dakota, and a few other states on the run, hiding out with their Aunt and Uncle, and not even with the ex in Europe at all. So on to more happy times. rk in my life in the last few years,and protected my heart from great grief and depression. I give thanks for all that I do have in my life. This whole nightmare was so unbelievably hard at times, all I could do was cry out to God, and trust that he would see that righteousness prevailed, and it did, finally, after 3 hard years. Like I said, divorce sucks and I don't reccomend it. but YEAH!!! great news, in 2001 we tracked down the kids and in 2002 I won custody back of my children, and all those involved were heavily repremanded for ever allowing a father to even temporarily win under such circumstances.In 2000 at the 20 year reunion I was in court, fighting with appeals and writs etc.. so again could not go...but I really wanted to see many old friends. Now in 2010 there might be a chance for a 30 year reunion, and I would really love to come to that. There are so many people that I have thought of over the years,and wondered how life has treated you, too many people to mention, but know that I care, and can't wait to see everyone face to face. I hope that any one that remembers me will write back. I would love to hear from you. I am now living in a suburb of Tacoma WA,University Place, and am working as a Dental Assistant. I am married again, to my second(and last) husband, who is WONDERFUL. He is a very loving husband and step-father to my girls, who are now 11 and 13. We have all worked hard over the last few years to bounce back from this tragedy, but the girls and I seem to be doing well. I find myself counceling others in similar situations, so I guess there is a reason for my suffering, to help others. Life is good, if you give it a chance. God bless and take care. UPDATE.... it is now 2008 and my kids are 14 and 16. We are all living very happily ever after in my second marriage. I have gone back to being a hair stylist after an 8 year career in dental office management. HOPE YOU WILL ALL COME TO THE 30 YEAR REUNION IN 2010
