Pamela's Story
Life
Some would say my life has been simple and boring, but the past 20 years have taken me to many exciting places geographically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually that I'd never thought I would go. I attended Mt. Olive College immediately following graduation and then transferred to Atlantic Christian College, which is now Barton, in Wilson. I became a licensed math teacher and began teaching at Southern Nash Senior High. After seven years of teaching and coaching cheerleading there, I moved on to Fike High School in Wilson where I have been for the last eight years. By the way, my cheerleaders brought home the trophy every time! Since my move to Fike, I have been the advisor of FCA, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and I have also been serving my church, Living Faith Church, as the youth minister. As youth minister, I have been part of the leadership team on three missions trips; two to Jamaica and one to Puerto Rico. . The "now" photo was taken last October at my church's halloween alternative activity. The little girl with me is my niece, Paula's daughter. Her name is Rachel. She turns five tomorrow! Most of you will remember that Paula is my twin sister. I truly wish that I could see all of you again at our 20th high school reunion in August. However, I am committed to a youth conference in Greensboro that weekend. If I could attend the reunion and had the opportunity to tell you just one thing, then this would be it. Know God and know who He made you to be. No one else is better qualified! I began my relationship with the Lord while in high school, but I'm sure many of you did not know that because I tried to hide it. To see me now, you may not recognize me and may even say that I am not the girl you knew in high school. Many things have happened in my life, especially this last year, to shape me into the person God wants me to be. I have not arrived by any means, but I am certainly determined to get there!!
