Pamela's Story
Greetings from Atlanta! It is difficult to believe that it has been 30 years since Niles High School! My older daughter will be starting highschool in the fall and that brings back memories. . . .
In addition to the 30 year anniversary of our graduation, I "celebrated" a couple of other milestones this past year. I returned to Purdue University for Homecoming and my 25 year reunion. Some familiar buildings and hangouts, but many additions and facelifts.
I also completed my 20th year with American Express. I started out in the Latin America/Caribbean division after graduate school, then moved to Atlanta where I have been for 18 years. little more flexibility in my schedule.
For the 5th year, I went on a mission trip to Honduras with a group of about 20. My mom came and stayed with my kids so that I could take the week to help build a fellowship hall and lead a vacation bible school. I have always enjoyed the week away from my normal routine and the chance to serve others, meet new people and work on my Spanish.
As any parent can attest, my children govern many of my non-work activities. My daughters are 14 and 12 and active with church, sports, music and friends. My dear husband of 17 years died very suddenly almost two years ago. So being a parent is more of a challenge than I had thought it would be. However, the girls are great kids and we are doing fine. pamelarosstodd at yahoo.
