Pamela's Story
Life
I guess itÂs time to finally put something here.
IÂm completely traumatized that itÂs been 25 years since I graduated high school- logically I know that time has gone by, but mentally IÂm sure I canÂt possibly be the same age as my mother was when it happened!
IÂm not married, and I can honestly say thatÂs the most annoying question that IÂm ever askedÂ
. Well, that and Âhave you lost weight? Both result in an answer to the negative.
I worked in cable for years and I moved to New York for a really, really short time for a cable related position but moved back to Punta Gorda in 1998. I worked locally for a non-profit for a while but then decided I needed a) more money and b) MEN to work with, so I went to work at Sony in Fort Myers.
At Sony, I picked out a man almost instantly, but I had to wait for him to catch onÂ
. lol I stayed there for as long as I could take it and then moved on to a company in Bonita Springs called Source Interlink.
In the past three years, Mike (from my Sony tag and release program) and I have moved from one chaotic situation to another. IÂve gone from living out of two homes, to moving all my stuff in with him, to selling his house and moving into the attached apartment of his house (closer to work for both of us), to moving back into my house for a few months prior to selling it, then to Southaven MISSISSIPPI. I know, I know- itÂs an odd choice, but itÂs a compromise. Mike wanted to go to the Vegas area and I wonÂt leave the Southeast as long as my parents are still around, so Mississippi it was. The funny thing is, we were looking at the Biloxi area as late as April 2005, but on our last trip there, we stood in the local mall parking lot, and I could only see GulfÂ
water as far as the eye could see. Afte...Expand for more
r Charlie, I just could NOT move somewhere that was that wide open and vulnerable.
Mike had to move here early for work, so he left in September of 2005, I didnÂt join him until the week before Christmas literally because of on-going dental work that needed to be finished before I left Florida and lost my insurance. I continued working for Source via the internet until February and then I became jobless.
My plan was to take a month or so off just to ÂbeÂ, but itÂs the middle of April now, and IÂm really enjoying NOT workingÂ
so unless I win the Powerball, IÂm going to have to get serious about the search soon! IÂm basically going to be looking for a Âthrow away job. This year, weÂre going to try to spend Christmas and New Years in Italy, and I need to make sure that IÂm going to be able to get the time off, one way or another.
I think we did really well with the Âopen a map and point technique. Southaven is actually right across the state line of Tennessee- weÂre in the suburbs of Memphis and about 30 minutes away from the Tunica casinos. Mike and I had decided to rent for a year first just to decide where we wanted to buy, but since IÂve only just finished Âmoving in as it were (buying furniture, hanging ceiling fans, screening in the patio), weÂre probably going to stay here for another year unless something spectacular comes up. ItÂs a really nice complex- its quiet, really centrally located (IÂve never lived so close to a mall) and weÂve become fond of the ducks that live here. We try to keep food to feed them, but more so now that itÂs spring and little baby chicks are in the picture!
Well, I think thatÂs enough yammering for a while. IÂm sure IÂll come up with something again some time. I hope everyone is doing well!
