Life I went through various jobs after high school until I began working at an insurance company in 1982. Unfortunately the Department of Insurance closed them down. My next "real" job was at Ohio Dominican College where I worked in several departments before becoming the secretary for the Director of Development. That was fun and interesting and I got to meet quite a "movers and shakers" in the Columbus community. In 1990 I moved to Chicago. My younger sister, Paula had moved in 1987 and had a baby girl in 1989. Chicago was quite a shock to the system! It is just sooooo different than the Columbus area. Trust me when I say it has toughened me up!!! I got a job with an insurance company where I worked for a year before they let me go. I met my future husband in 1991 and became employed with the Marriott Hotels shortly thereafter. In 1991 I was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Although I'd been tossed into psychiatric environments since high school for mis-behaving, this was the first time I was given good medicine and good psychotherapy.
