Pamela's Story
To say the least, life after high school has not been boring! I have lived in Ohio, Florida, Seattle (hated it), back to Ohio and now Texas. I'm currently married to a wonderful guy and living near Dallas. We've been married 4 years. Third time is the charm. My son, Colin (product of first marriage), is married and living in Lexington, KY. He and his wife are doing well. No grandchildren but I'm not anxious to have any either! My husband's daughter moved in with us approx. 2 years ago, and she is doing well also.
I finally finished my Bachelor's degree (MIS) and have been working in the IT field as a database administrator (Oracle and SQL Server) for 9....Expand for more
5 years. Hoping to get out of IT, I completed my Master's degree. Right now, I'm doing contract work as a DBA. This means I haven't gotten it into gear to revamp my resume and look for another job.
Right now, I am enjoying not carrying a pager, lugging around a laptop, having my nose in a book, or writing papers. We moved into a new house about a year ago, and I'm trying to find the energy to start decorating. That will probably go as well as getting that resume rewritten.
I used to think by this stage in my life I would have it all figured out. Well, I'm still a work-in-progress. I'll be curious to see what the next 20 years (if I'm lucky) brings.
