Pamela's Story

January 19, 2009 I am presently sitting here in Singapore. In the last 60 days I have travelled to Central America, cruised the Med. and visited, Rome, Genoa, Barcelona, Mallorica, Tunisa and Palermo, then headed to South America and cruised from Buenos Aires, Argentina around the Cape Horn and ended up in Santiago Chile just before Christmas. Spent New Year's in Istanbul with family and then headed here. Will head to Kuala Lampur tomorrow and over to Thailand. Will head to an Ice Hotel in Quebec and then off to Austrailia, Tazmania, New Zealand and then Bali then over to Morocco for awhile and then home to get ready for my son's big church wedding in May. We are then all going on his honeymoon to Europe and a cruise on the Baltic Sea. This just brings me to May and not sure where I'll be heading after that. Lots of amazing places. My poor husband of 31 years wonders when I might show up at home but don't miss the Chicago cold. October, 2008 Here is a recent update as of Oct, 2008. My son Alex was married last month. He is 26, serves in the US Air Force and while he is stationed in Japan he recently saw action in Kuwait and Iraq. My daughter, Becky, is now a sophmore at Bradley University majoring in history and is a major part of the Bradley Speech team. I celebrated my 31st wedding anniversary this summer and am presently retired and travelling non-stop. Since January I've been to Poland for New Years, Venice in January, Spain and Gilbralter in Feb, Dog sledding and stayed at an ice hotel in Iceland and Noway in March, Jamaica in April, London and Canada in May, Minneapolis in June, Ecuador and the Galapagos in July, Baltimore in August, Switzerland, Germany, Austria in Sept. Also got together with my grammer school friends from Lloyd in Seattle and a cruise to canada in Sept. Will be hitting 6 of the 7 continents in the next 5 months. I guess reading from our Foreman plans to be a world traveler actually did come true. Hope everyone is well. Greetings, Everyone. I realized there really wasn't much of an update on the last 34 years. I went to Bradley University. Met my husband, Bill, there and we will be celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary. We have two incredible children. Alex is 26 and is serving in the United States Air Force. He has been stationed in Japan for 3 years and is presently in Kuwait. He will be coming home on leave in June 08 and will be getting engaged. My daughter Becky is 20 and finishing up her 1...Expand for more
st year at Bradley University (even though she is now finishing her Junior year). She was so active in high school that I think I spent as much time there as I did when I was at Foreman. She was in all the plays, choirs and very involved in the speech team. If you have never seen a speech event it is nothing like you would imagine. Anyway, she just came back going to both Nationals for the first time. I can't wait for her to come home as I have not fared well as an empty nester. One of the greatest adventures which I have continued is constant travel. To give you an idea, (and this is all year long), in the past 6 months I have gone on separate trips to Japan, Budapest, cruised from Rio down to Buenos Aires (the last time I was in Rio my daughter, mom and I went hang gliding in the Amazon), spent New Years in Poland, ran over to Venice before Becky went back to school, went to southern Spain and Gilbratar in early Feb, flew to Iceland and then over to central Norway to stay at an Ice Lodge as well as go dogsledding (I ran my own team for awhile) in mid march and just spent last week in Jamaica. As soon as Becky get done with school we're heading to London, then in June up to Minneapolis for my nephew's college graduation (some of you might remember my brother Paul from Foreman 01). We then are all heading to the Galapagos Islands again (it's really wonderful) in July and in August I'm meeting up with my mom in Switzerland after she goes hot air ballooning over Europe and going to explore southern Germany. After that I heading up to Seattle with Chris Posch, Dana Bender and Judy Carlson (we all were close friends at Lloyd and Chris and Dana went to Foreman) for a cruise up to Canada. I am sure there will be much more travel this year but this is the only things I have booked so far. I am incredibly blessed as well as my father, stepmother, mom and her friend, my in-laws and even my husband's grandmother (who is 103) are all doing well. I have been involved in the Chicago area commercial real estate arena for 24 years and then got involved with the mortgage industry for the past 5. Originally is was great but I think anyone who has turned on a tv knows that it's not the time to be in the business. I'm now taking a breather. Fortunately, my daughter has a full ride between scholarships and my mom's endowment and my husband has a wonderful job. We have lived in Palatine since Jan 1982 and really like it here. Any questions, email me.
