Pat's Story
As those of you who knew me know I got married in our junior year of school and the school would not let me attend my senior year. My hubby was in the Navy and we had quite an adventure moving around California and then to Norfolk VA. We had 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. No I was not pregnant when we got married, had the first child after 2 yrs of marriage. My husband became disabled at age 36, I was 31 from a brain tumor. Had really rough years but we stuck together and have been married 47 years. I did secretarial work then became a professional photographer. After the disability needed more freedom so I became an insurance agent. Finally I got smart and went back to school...Expand for more
at age 40 to become an occupational therapist. Our children are wonderful and I sometimes wonder how they made it through all those years without getting on drugs etc. My oldest is head of the health dept. in Florida, Middle son is back in school to become a special needs teacher and my baby girl is an accountant. We have made 60 moves in our lives living in Calif., Florida, Missippi, and now in Arkansas a beautiful state. Would love to hear from some of you, Think often of days in Diamond elementry and Smedly Jr. Hi. Anyone remember Mr. Walters, somehow I think of him more than any other teacher. I'm now retired and falling apart. Guess all the years of stress took its tole.
