Pat's Story
I go by Trish Montgomery now. My oldest friend Lynne Fisher (Bongard)is the only one I have kept in touch with since I moved to Vancouver in 1970. I left school in 1966 when all the new young teachers replaced the much better long time mentors. I wanted to work so went to Morgan's in Cloverdale Mall. Soon after I was married with a daughter. That didn't work out so a childless couple took her and raised her well and I was bound for Vancouver. I never went back to Toronto to live although I visited my parents. They're both gone now so I have no real reason to come back - cemetary visits I guess and the last time I was there was for ECI's 75th birthday. I barely made it for the goodbyes at the end of the last day. Had I known it was a 3-4 day event, I would have arrived earlier so I could have connected with some schoolmates. I did see Debbie Jenner and Susan Sharpe though and a quick Hi...Expand for more
to Doug Marr. Then it was over. I met with Pete Ferguson for lunch the next day and was on a plane home. Lynne was there though because she still lives in Ontario. I wish she had given me more info. My daughter and I reconnected in 1991 and she is here in Nanaimo happily married so we are in constant contact.
I am now officially retired (at 63). I was in the insurance industry for 18 years and my last employer, Cooperators packaged me and 4 others out so they could hire younger ignorant workers, brainwash them and pay less than us older and much more experienced ones. Don't ever deal with that outfit!!!!!
I now have my own pet/house sitting business and it's really picking up. I started last November and already have repeat business. I love animals and have 2 cats. Jay and I have been together 15 years now so he can mind the cats while I'm staying elsewhere sitting the animals.
