Pat's Story
Life
After graduation I went to NTSU for a BA (dance) and then on to TWU for an MA (dance). I started the PhD but didnÂt finish. While working on my thesis my parents went to live in Saudi Arabia where my father worked for about 7 years (The Middle East was much safer 20 years ago). I was extremely fortunate to be able to travel and see some of the world (UK, France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Philippines) with them before they came home.
With graduate school done I took a position heading the dance dept at a private womanÂs university in Missouri. This is when I met my first and only husband of 20 years. Steve is a construction management consultant presently working on Capitol Hill in DC. SteveÂs business has provided us with many opportunities to travel also. Previous to his present contract with the Architect of the Capitol he spent some time working in Iraq. Now he basically commutes between DC and Florida. WeÂve done a little...Expand for more
traveling overseas on our own. I actually kidnapped him once (total surprise) and enrolled him in Formula One race driving school in the South of France. Of course, I had to tag along!
Time at homebase is split between Port St. Lucie and Key West, FL. We live fulltime in our 45 motorcoach. WeÂve been Âfulltiming for about 15 years and for us itÂs the Âperfect lifeÂ. Hurricanes?? Yes!! In 2004 I had more than my fill. Steve was overseas and when the 3rd one was headed for me I just jumped behind the wheel of the coach and headed northÂ
ended up in Atlanta. I was pretty nervous since I had never driven the coach more than a couple of hours or without Steve but I got there in one piece!
My Mother and Father have both passed. I still have 2 nieces in Texas.
Update 2009:
Well Steve's home fulltime for now. Port St. Lucie is still home but we're in the bus in Titusville, FL while he's working on a project at Cape Canaveral.
