PATRICIA's Story
Married to Joe Ryan and had our daughter just before graduation. Had a daughter and son by Joe. Lived is SF for 5 years, moved to San Jose. I was a stay at home Mom until youngest went to school. Worked at Stanford Applied Engineering in Accounting dept. Stayed there for 5 years and moved to Modesto, as Joe took a job with Gallo Winery. We went right to the country life, with all the farm animals. My son had started 4H and then started Rodeo, then FFA.
We raised pigs, steers, heifer, rabbits, horses, etc.. and hauled them to rodeos, SF Cow Palace, to Sacramento State Fairs and the county fairs here, until he went to college. Been to alot of fairs, and rodeos and I do miss them, sometimes.
My daughter fell in love, graduated HS and married. She has since divorced him and married a great guy. My son went onto college, then married his elementary school sweetheart.
I worked at Bronco Winery in Credit dept.,then moved to a hardwoods lumber company, than for an oak furniture manufacturer. Joe and I divorced. I went to work for an utility company, and then a tropical plant nursery as bookkeeper. Moved on to work for an attorney, as Office Manager. Best job I ever had in my life.
I stayed living in the country.(Don't think I was meant to be a city girl.) I like jeans, shorts, t-shirts, boots, tennis shoes and flip flops or "slippahs" as they are known in Hawaii. I do dress up occasiona...Expand for more
lly, but I really am a casual kind gal.
Several years passed and I met my true soulmate, Dan. We were together for 20 years. He turned me on to Bass fishing one spring, when the spawn was on. My arms felt like rubber after that day, but you couldn't keep us off the lakes after that. BUT during football, were were at the 49er games, with season tickets, or watching the away games on TV. With our marriage I gained a step son and two step daughters. Sadly Dan passed away in 2010, after complications from double lung transplant. After Dan passed I semi-retired, still doing bookkeeping a couple days a month.
I now have one granddaughter in college, a grandson in high school, another in 7th grade, another in 6th grade, one grandaughter that just turned 5, and the youngest is another grandson at 16 months. The three oldest grandsons all wrestle, play baseball and football. One is a 3 time State champ, and a 5 time National Champ with a Trinity Award.
I have been working on my "Bucket List" so I did some traveling and really loved Lake Muskoka, Ontario, Canada and Playa del Carmen, as well as Maui and Oahu. New Mexico is also beautiful.
I had some updating done on the house that we had been putting off, due to Dan's condition. Still have a few more projects and then it will be just like we (I) wanted it. LOL
Not sure what is next in my life, but glad to be alive, and don't want any regrets.
