We were a military family and moved a lot. I wound up attending four different high schools in three different states. I didn't get a chance to get to know as many classmates as I would have liked at Suitland. For those of the class of '64 I could be best remembered as a gymnast having been awarded the first (and only?) varsity letter in that sport. After graduation I enrolled at the University of Florida on a diving scholarship. After two years I dropped out and enlisted in the Air Force ultimately being stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa. Skydiving pretty much took over my life and I logged over 2000 jumps in a fourteen year period. It was through that sport that I met my first wife - herself an active jumper and US Team alternate. I finished college and grad school at the Univ of South Florida and was then hired to be the morning meteorologist at Channel 8 (NBC TV) in Tampa. After 3 1/2 years my wife got a transfer to Washington, DC and then subsequently to Hartford, CT.
