Pat's Story
My choices and curiosity have made my life an adventure.
I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1968 and received post-graduate certification for physical therapy in 1969.
I met my husband Scott at the University of Iowa in 1966 and married him in 1968.
He went to Newport Rhode Island for Navy Officer Candidate School. In 1969 I joined him in Washington DC where he worked at the Defense Intelligence Agency. I worked as a physical therapist in the OLD Alexandria Virginia Hospital.
We lived in Virginia until 1971. As we left the east coast we went to Europe and became drifters for 10 weeks.
We returned to Minneapolis Minnesota and have lived here since 1971.
Scott worked for IDS Financial Services (today it is called Ameriprise) in Information Technology for over 30 years and retired in 2002.
I worked as a physical therapist for over 20 years, the last 15 years in rehab services at the Courage Center.
I was...Expand for more
the first PT in the therapeutic pool and helped develop many of their programs for mostly neurological patients.
I ended my career working with stroke survivors. I was very fortunate to find my niche.
Scott and I have two beautiful daughters Laura who lives in Southern California and Kari who lives near us in Plymouth Minnesota. We adore our five grandchildren.
Scott and I have always been very adventurous and curious about the world. We have travelled: Across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Peru (trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu), Chile from Santiago to Patagonia, most of Western Europe, China, India, New Zealand, and trekked in the Himalayas in Nepal.
We have recently discovered Road Scholar travel groups and have enjoyed kayaking with them.
Scott and I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and reading.
I do tai chi and yoga daily
