Pat's Story
Howdy Folks.
I never got famous yet.
Was having a "Geezer Moment"
while surfing Craigslist for a job,
when low and behold,
Disney was looking for toothless people.
With 13 teeth left in my mouth,
I gave it a whirl.
No, I never got to meet Johnny Depp,
but I landed an extra's part in Pirates III!
Woo-Hoo, what a 'two days' I had;
being around all the other actors,
and techs, 4 AM makeup, 12 hour days,
Gourmet Food!!!, Grueling Work/ yet equal the Fun.
I caught the acting bug back at Little Flower,
When Sister Sally directed Alice in Wonderland.
The beautiful Louise Barton was Alice.
One of the debonair Lisowski brothers played the Chesser Cat;
and they say, ha-ha, I ran away with the show as The Queen of Hearts.
Well, that ol' actor bug fizzed away over the years.
Now, something is phoenixing in my mind on a few things.
I just may try for some more roles in showbiz.
I'd like to go back to college, not for a degree,
just to brush up on some theatrical skills
and learn about camera work and editing,
and screen writing.
I'm still poor as a...Expand for more
hobo,
so if I can make a doozie of an independent film,
maybe I'll be in the big bucks someday,
and open up a barber shop with a Real Barber Shop Quartet,
or a '$4 a ticket movie theater' with old Don Knots Movies (ie).
Maybe I'll have my own thrift store, too,
cause I've always like to rummage through lots of stuff.
When I was a kid in grammar school,
I loved taking the alleys home from school cause of all the neat finds.
Well, beautiful people,
next time you are having a geezer moment,
just tell yourselves,
I 'm not 55 years Old,
dang it,
I'm 55 Yrs Young, man!
