Pat's Story
I moved from Seattle to Michigan in 1964. In 1965, I married my first husband. We had a son, Paul, who has 3 children. We divorced after 13 years. I worked as a secretary for many years then married my husband, John in 1989 and moved to Wyoming. I worked for 15 years as a secretary at Solvay Minerals in Green River before retiring and moving to North Dakota. We have a 16 acre farmstead about 2 miles outside of our little town. Winters can be long and cold, but I absolutely love the country. John taught me how to hunt, both rifle and archery, which I have done very successfully over the years, harvesting moose, elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer, antelope, and whitetail deer. nd turkeys. Gardening, both vegetables and flowers, is a big part of my summer activities, along with walleye fishing. After moving here, I was asked to work part time for our local bank for vacation coverage. It was a great way to meet new people, since we knew absolutely no one here.
In 2013, we took our trip of a lifetime vacationing six weeks going to and returning from Alaska. The scenery was spectacular and the Canadian Rockies are amazing.
Retired for good in 2015. Still active with the outside activities in the summer. Love traveling to see family and friends, but don't do it as much as we'd like due to an African Grey Parrot and a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla bird dog. That tends to limit the length of time we get away together.
