Pat's Story

Life Biography Pat Kelley works as a Realtor and Commercial Property Manager in Walnut Creek by day and as a professional musician by night. Pat Kelley plays a musical string instrument called a hammered dulcimer, a medieval Irish percussion string instrument that predates the piano. Pat's cousin, Ray Mooers, handcrafts these fine instruments and his company, Dusty Strings, is currently one of the largest producers in the world of hammered dulcimers. By the age of 23 Pat Kelley performed for the King and Queen of Nepal. He continued studying classical and jazz guitar and performed throughout the Bay Area on both guitar and hammered dulcimer. ge of Moraga in 1988. The following year Pat performed live on the national TV of Argentina on the hammered dulcimer. In the year 2000 Pat self produced and recorded his first hammered dulcimer CD, accompanied by Mark Holzinger on the guitar, at the Music Annex in San Francisco. The CD is called Pat Kelley with Mark Holzinger and is available at selected stores, and available upon request. Today, Pat and Mark continue to perform for weddings and private parties throughout Northern California.
