Pat's Story
I attended UNO for two years, majoring in Fine Arts. I decided that a fine arts degree probably wouldn't get me a real job, so I went to Omaha Art School. I got married in 1973 and started to work part time at KMTV in their art department. We started a family and after our second child was born, I went to work a Lee Wards craft store teaching art and craft classes and working as a cashier. I went back to college in 1989 at College of St. Mary to earn a bachelor's degree in computer graphics. I started to work ...Expand for more
as a graphic designer for an Omaha sign shop before I graduated and worked there for 16 years. I "retired" from that position when my husband retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. Since 2007, I have worked for a digital scrapbooking website and done some mystery shopping. My husband and I are active members of the Omaha Pipes and Drums. He's a piper and I'm a tenor drummer. We do parades, civic events and competitions. We have 4 grandchildren, one who lives in California and the other three live in Bellevue.
