Patrice's Story

Life Updated August 2018: I continue to live and work in Los Angeles, California (the longest I've stayed anywhere in my life). Will celebrate 20 years in November at the third largest Performing Arts Center in the USA; The Music Center. I am now Associate Director of School Programs for Education and serve LA County PreK-12th grade. I have about 40 Teaching Artists in 4 art forms out in the classrooms integrating the arts into core curriculum and helping teachers to do the same (theatre, dance, music and the visual arts). I still love my job and feel so strongly about arts education in the schools, as I had the wonderful opportunity in my schooling which led to an amazing career for so many years. I know that I am making a difference in many children lives all across the Southland and it is very gratifing and never boring! Thank God my health continues to be good and that I can continue working...Expand for more
as long as physically possible. My dancing/performing career is long over, but now I get to help others to be exposed and hone their artistic skills. I have a caring boyfriend since my divorce in 2000 and my daughter and my three grown grandsons are now almost 28, 24, and 21 years old and look like my bodyguards standing next to me. People always think that they are my sons, but alas they always correct the person explaining that I am their Nana.. LOL My daughter Alejandra is still living in the Boulder, CO area, although she's recently sold her large house since the boys have all moved out. She works at Denver's Children's Hospital in Aurora as a nurse recruiter. I continue to love going to movies (also a SAG-AFTRA member), cooking, and traveling to see friends around the world and try to be grateful for each day that I wake up alive and breathing. I am so very blessed. Life is truly good!!!!

My grandfather was someone who never had anything bad to say about anyone, never raised his voice and may have been the gentlest, kindest, and most loving person ever. He was a Nisqually Indian who was proud of his heritage
