Life
Hi everyone, I am still in the Newark- Fremont area, I couldn't get my husband to leave! We have been married 33 years as of June '08, and have three kids, ages 27, 25 and 18, who are all smart, athletic and handsome! Yeah, right, all moms say that!! I am currently working at Kaiser Pleasanton as a nurse practitioner in ophthalmology. I worked as an RN for 20 years at Stanford, then needed a change, so went back and got a Master's degree at UCSF. I worked for 7 years as a NP before I decided I was being worked to death and needed to expand my opportunities again, so I just finished a doctorate at Case Western Univ. in Ohio in May '08. Yes, I am crazy, but I've really enjoyed the classes and people. My husband Norm is the city engineer of Fremont. The eldest son designs high end carbon fiber bicycles. l RT 7000, was "bike of the year" for Outside or Outdoor Magazine in summer '07. Son #2 is an accountant in S.F. Kid #3, a daughter, is a sophomore at Cal Poly SLO. Hobbies: I love to cook, Italian, Thai, Caribbean, Mexican. Anything with hot chilies or citrus in it is my favorite! I also love to read travelogues or biographies. We splurged in fall of '07 and took a 3 week independent trip to Greece. It was fabulous: sailing on a 50 ft yacht, eating goat meat in red sauce at little tavernas, swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean sea, watching drunk locals do traditional dances on a pickup truck bed!I had to learn how to read the Greek alphabet fast to find our hotels!It's probably back to camping for next year. No grandkids yet, no kids are married. Son #2 does have a girlfriend, though, so there may be hope. We have a 20.5 yr old cat who just keeps going, amazingly.
