Patricia's Story
Hi Everyone, Where to start...guess from the beginning. Graduated Upland 1964 in June, joined the Navy in August. I spent 3 years in Washington D.C. When I came home I married and divored. In 1969 remarried and had my daughter Rebecca and again divored in 1974. Rejoined the Navy in 1975 and retired from the Navy in 1994. I met my current and last husband in Florida in 1996. He is an Egyptian/American and in 1997 he was given back lands that had been taken after the Egyptian revolution in 1954,or was it 1952. 2009 and we are still in Egypt. We both feel in love with the farm and the people in Komombo (Upper Egypt), we grow sugar cane and mango. I've taken an interest in trying to save some of the cart horses, donkeys and camels. My daughter and her family live in Seattle, Wa. I have three beautiful grandchildren and travel once or twice a year to visit them. It's an interesting life here and when we can get out of the city we like to go to the Red Sea to relax.
I could never have imagined that when I left Upland and the Navy that I would end up living in Egypt. I feel truly blessed and am very happy.
