Patricia's Story

My story! Where do I begin. I haven't been to Pa. for years even though I live right next door in the Yo. I am married with 5 children and one grandchild. My 3rd just graduated from high school so I have 3 down and 2 to go. I work at General Motors and I am also attending Bradley Bible College working towards a degree in Christian counseling. My passion is working with women who are working towards being a survivior as I have learned how to do. I believe that when we keep God first we can accomplish anything. Been through many valley times but God is the source and the strength of my life and everything I didn't get from my natural famil;y I was blessd to receive from other sources. Today I choose to be a victor rather than a victim. A crazy thing I remember from school is when we were in the 7th grade right before I left and we had to wear dresses and skirts all the time! I remember going in the bathroom every morning and making the skirt stupid short and then having to let it be long again before my mom came to work. If you guysa remeber she worked as a cleaning lady there and I could never get away with anything, ever. She never cut me any slack. she even chaperoned our senior prom! I am sure that the biggest surprise in my life is that I don't share an int...Expand for more
imate relationship with my big brother. I can't even remeber the last time we talked. One thing this has taught me is that it isn't cool to put anyone on a pedastal. Life is sure to take us through twists and turns that we never could have imagined. A relationship, a genuine one is a two way street in all things. There were some very dominant people in my early life that had me so intimidated about what they expected from me that I didn't realize that I should have had expectations also. My only regret in life is that I allowed that intimidation to run me away to the point that finally there was no turning back. I will never have the pleasure of a life-long best friend buit at the same time freedom and peace-of-mind is still a priceless commodity. A valuable lesson I have learned from my children is that no two people come out of any experience the same. Five children from the same two people - we have basically been through everything together and I have five totally different results. They all look alike but that's where the similarities start and stop. Even as I listen to them reminisce about anything they all always have a different story to tell about the same thing. I hope I never need them to be a witness for me all at the same time!! to be continued.....
