Patricia's Story
Greetings and Salutations -
I didn't interact with a great deal of people in High School, although looking back, I wish I had made more of those years. I disappeared after high school, got married, moving away from Madison and became a firefighter and EMT for seven years which was one of the best opportunities that I experienced other than becoming a mother. I followed my husband to the Chicagoland region, changed careers from fire/rescue to Human Resources, and had two children. I work full time, and I am a part of a foundation called Save a Star that is a passion that I serve with pride and gratitude. I have remarried (in 2005). I believe that God plants you where you need to be, to grow, learn and share, therefore becoming a better person with a wealth of experiences to reflect on.
I have three things I practice every day; 1) Recite the Serenity Prayer, 2) Be thankful for the pleasures and challenges in my life because they give me purpose, and 3) remember that "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world".
