Patricia's Story
Hey! After Stonewall, I went to WV State..earned my BSW on my birthday in 1975. I left Charleston the summer of "76 and moved to Philadelphia, PA...CULTURE SHOCK!!! I married my college sweet heart...that last for 5 or 6 years...divorced in 1982...married again in 1984...that union produced a great kid who is now 31...he is a recovering heroin addict...he married his teenage love...they have 4 wonderful children...ages ranging from 12 years to 9 months!! Love my "grands"....I walked out of the second marriage in 2000...remarried my college sweetheart in 2005..he left in October 2007...I NEED TO WRITE A BOOK!!! My career history is colorful...from 1981 to 2008, I worked for a non-profit behavioral health agency where I was Director of Educational Services and a DUI Instructor...somewhere during that time I went to Penn State for grad school for my M.Ed...left the job..did some consulting work for a school district......Expand for more
got a job at Brandywine Behavioral Health in 2010...still there...work as a Behavioral Health Therapist on their psych unit..LOVE MY JOB...can never say it's boring!! LOL!!! Also, we (son,daughter-in-law and moi) have our own 501c3 non-profit foundation which helps children diagnosed with a chronic disability and their family..CaLeigh's Gene Foundation, Inc....check out our web site..Facebook...Twitter...Instagram. My second grandchild, CaLeigh was 5 months old when she was diagnosed with microcephaly, cerebral palsy...failure to thrive...she is one of five girls in the US with a gene they cannot identify and all 5 are similar but not the same...she doesn't walk..or talk..she has a g-tube...CaLeigh is five and my precious angel...like I said, check out the web site...currently trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, hence, looking at Ph.D programs..still love school and learning!!
