Eileen's Story
Out of high school I went into the Womens Army Corps. Yes, I was a WAC, and some would say I'm still a little wacky. When I returned stateside after a tour in Heidelberg, Germany I moved to Portland, Oregon where I married and raised my three children. After a few years of working I went to Portland State University got a BA in Spanish and began teaching. I worked in Migrant Education and then in the Adult Education sector. The program I worked for helped welfare moms get their education and find a job that matched their finacial obligations. It was an excellent program. After teaching for nine years, I went back to school.

chool. I moved on to work for John Deere in Iowa. It's a great company to work for. Currently I'm working for my masters in mechanical engineering at the Univ of California in Los Angeles. I'm studying design and sustainabililty. I would like to teach engineering and do some consulting in my husband's company. I'd like to help small companies become more energy efficient.
I love the outdoors and do some running, biking and swimming to keep fit. I've run 16 half marathons, and don't think I'll attempt the full marathon. I really just enjoy the challenge. I have no delusions of grandeur, but I have taken third in both the triathalons I've done. What a kick!!!
