Patricia's Story
Life
Hmmmm.. why do I get the feeling that I was building my "Life Profile" so my information could be sold for marketing purposes? I guess "most of my friends would say" I'm cynical, but that wasn't a choice on the survey:-)
After graduating from St. Cornelius, I went to Alvernia, and then to Northern Illinois University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. (I decided to be a teacher when I was 5 years old, and although I changed my major to business in college and did well, I decided to listen to my heart and not my wallet...and changed back to education.) I earned a M.A. in Education at Northeastern Illinois, specializing in middle school math instruction. I taught middle school for over 30 years (on the South Side of Chicago for 18 years and afterwards, in the northern suburbs) tea...Expand for more
ching math or math lab for about half of my career, and 6th, 7th, or 8th grade for the rest.
I have been married for 30 years, and my husband and I have raised four children (two of his and two of ours). We are retired and split our time between Florida and Illinois. I absolutely love retirement because now I have time to do all the things I never had time for when I was working. I have many interests, but the hobby I spend the most time on is genealogy. (My late father got me hooked on that...) I also love to garden, read, play Scrabble, walk at the beach/nature centers, and travel.
I never see ANYONE from elementary school. Does St. Cornelius never have reunions??? Of course, I plead guilty to never going to high school reunions. I always intend to, but I never seem to lose that 50 pounds in time!
