Patricia's Story
The song "Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts pretty much sums up my life to this point.
Even though I took the 'long way' around, I'm finally where I'm supposed to be! However, I've learned to live with no regrets - all the experiences and choices I've made in life have led me to where I am today and made me the person I am today. I can't say I would change a thing about my life - if I changed just one thing, what chain of events would that affect? I would never want to take the chance of not having my daughter!! No matter what I had to go through - she's definitely worth it! It has been a life changing experience for me to be a mother. priviledge to be her mom. She is the light of my life - my pride and joy - you know all those cliche's!! She makes me smile, laugh, and yes, sometimes cry (not so much lately!) and I love to see her smiling and happy:)
Even though it took me 24 years to realize Joe was the one for me from the beginning - I still can't say I would change a thing there either. We both had different roads to travel, different paths in life to take, different experiences to have in order to bring us full circle to this point. Now we can and do have a wonderful, mature relationship - the way a marriage is supposed to be. No games or pretending. A true, unconditional love that runs so deep words cannot describe it! That's all I have to say about that!!!
