Patricia's Story
I am Patricia Flynn Luckey, graduate of class of '65. After graduation, I attended Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a R.N. for the next 45 years, mostly specializing in oncology nursing with a six year stint as a hospice nurse. I married before graduating from nursing school and over the next 12 years had 3 children, one daughter (who is also a R.N.) and 2 sons(one a certified welder and the other certified in brick paving). onderful man in 2000, and we were married in 2001. He was diagnosed with cancer soon after our first anniversary. God was gracious and let me keep him for 7 more years. He died in 2009. There's always a reason for everything that happens, and he taught me what a real marriage is all about. I retired in 2013, but you never really get to retire from nursing. Now I have more to do than ever. That's OK, it keeps me going, keeping up with 2 young adult grandchildren, and helping with my mother. Through it all, God has been good to me. I never would have made it without him. To happy times, classmates!
