Pattie's Story

Life Hello out there in the big world of the world wide web!!!! I was really surprised and happy to have come onto this site and contact some long ago friends and acquaintances of yesteryear... I moved up to Paradise, California in 1973. Recently moved to Clear Lake, California and getting to know new people and a new area after 37 years in Paradise. The population in Paradise, the Paradise Pines just above Paradise and Chico is over 200,000 people. I have turned into a hillbilly and like less traffic, less pollution that goes along with it. Around 15,000 or so population around 100 miles of shoreline of Clear Lake. I've worked with computers, programming, stock brokerage but found that I am at my best when I am working as an RN whether as a traveling nurse, locally and country wide when I want to see a new area, or up in Clearlake where I enjoy working the most right now. I swore that I would never be a nurse and this is what I get for swearing!!! ;-) I have been married and divorced X2 and am currently living single again, just me, the Lord, my cats and my dogs. My children are grown, Jake is 34 and my daughter Felicia is 38. I am a grandma of a busy 9 year-old girl!!! "Life is what happens while you are planning for your life:-)". I am looking forward to hearing from whoever and whenever for whatever reason I found this site in the first place:-) Happy day to you and happy hunting and reminiscing to you too. I am an internet junkie now and love it. I hope that you have realized some of your dreams in this crazy wild ride that we are on. Bye for now and I am looking forward to hearing from whomever desires to write:-) Pattie Duke School School bio? Davidson elementary, close to home when growing up. Arrowview junior high, a long walk but not far enough to qualify for the free bus ride. San Bernardino high school, difficult time with braces and trying to find maturity around self centered pretty boy/girl preppies. Skadron Business college, waste of time and wrong direction. San Bernardino Valley College, fun and an introduction to the world and life of the 60's flower children which brought along a wide detour in my life for a time. Definitely broadened my outlook on life and widened my perspective/understanding for the various walks of life that people are in. Butte Community College, wonderful school in t...Expand for more
he foothills of the Sierras with peaceful quads and scenic vistas to gaze upon while you are cramming those last minute notes prior to an exam/speech or gathering thoughts for one of the many papers. Overall, I have spent various expanses of time there, in 75-77 taking auto mechanics, chinease art of meal preparation, basic jewelry making by local Indians, acupressure and massage, 83-85, A.S. Degree in Word and Data Processing (a lot of fun) and 89 through 2001, minus a few years in between studying through prerequisites, HHA/CNA/LVN certifications and then prerequisites and ASN degree in Nursing. I was going to persue Chico State literature but with so much schooling already, why? College Network will be my way to acquire a BS in Nursing, in time. Too many degrees are now obtainable on the internet, why fight the traffic, sit in boring classes and support the bookstore?! School bio, is this what is meant by that? College In my school bio Workplace work biography now, my, my. I cannot even count how many employers and or types of employment that I have held since high school. I've worked for a brokerage firm, computer company, hospitals, home health agencies, mental health, rehabilitation, convalescent and in-home supportative services. Many years ago, Lucille's Golden Chicken in Riverside and Kentucky fried Chicken on Highland Avenue in San Bernardino, concession stand at the softball field and then babysitting until I was old enough to legally work. I have also cleaned many houses and taken care of the elderly and disabled throughout the years. A.S. in Data and Word Processing and A.S. in Nursing. I will obtain my B.S. on-line and I may not, doesn't really matter that much to me anymore. What I would like to obtain a Masters in the Holistic Healthcare field, the upcoming and more rational delivery of healthcare and lifestyle education. So where has your course in the job market taken you? Military I approached a few recruiters, back in 67 and 68. All they wanted to do with me then was put me in an office somewhere. I felt that if I could not go out and fight alongside of my fellow country men, then I wasn't about to waste my time stuck in an office somewhere. I have always felt that I was born somewhere from ten to twenty years before my time because women are now included in almost all phases of the military. Oh well........
