Patricia's Story

In 1968 I lived on Hemlock off of High Street in Atwater and I went to Mitchell Junior High School. My dad had been transfered to Castle AFB and I had just moved to Atwater from Germany. In 1973, I got married before I graduated from high school. In 73 My parents lived on Atwater Blvd. They used to own the taxi company and my brother used to run the Grayhound bus station from there. My husband joined the air force and we were transfered to an Air Force Base in Aurora Colorado, close to Denver. I'll never forget Colorado, it was so beautiful. I remember having some trouble with our Chevy Luv truck making it up the steep mountains. I had never driven in snow and my husband had a good time scaring the crap out of me sliding around on the city streets of Aurora. I think that was my first panic attack. When my husband finished school in Aurora we were transfered to Beale Air Force Base in California. The base is close to the Marysville/Yuba City area, north of Sacramento. My daughter was born in 1976 at Beale Air Forc...Expand for more
e Base, California. We moved back to the Atwater area when my husband got out of the service. Things happened as they will and we ended up getting a divorce. I stayed in Atwater for a while after the divorce but the job situation was bad for me so I ended up moving to Arkansas. My parents divorced and my mother re-married a man from Arkansas and they moved to Arkansas. I moved to Arkansas in 1982. I lived in Arkansas from 1982 to 2005. My daughter, son-n-law and grandkids still live in Arkansas. I went to work for the USDA, Food Safety Inspection Service in 1995 and in 2005 I took a promotion and moved to Lebanon, Pensylvania. I took another promotion, and moved to the New Orleans area in Louisiana. My father was born in Louisiana and I have family here. I've been working on my family history and have had ancestors here dating back to the 1800's and a family cemetery in LA that was established in 1867. Thats' my story and I'm sticking to it. If you have the time I'd love to hear from some some of my classmates.
