Patricia's Story
Life
I moved to Chicago right out of high school. I met a guy there and eventually moved in with him. He was older, mid twenties, and I thought he was the world. Untill, that is, I ended pregnant. Things went well for a while, we had our baby, a liitle boy we named Jesse. Then 5 months later, surprise, pregnant again. At that point I thought we ought to make it offical and get married, but he didn't want to. He was unsure as to whether I was the "right" one for him. Thats when things started goign downhill. By the time our second son, Julien, was born, I couldn't stand to be in the same house with him.
SO a month after the birth, I moved back to Morris. I moved in with one of my best friends from high school, Beth Norton. She has been a great friend for as long as I have known her, even thought we have definately had our share of ups and downs. I was there a few months before moving to Joliet to live with family. Once there I started sowing my wild oats, was out all the time. I had a lot of growing up to do. Single parenthood was not a place I ever thought I would be. So I decided to get my stuff together, and went back to school. I attended the Illinois ...Expand for more
Center for Broadcsasting, and found my calling in life.
The only problem, they encourage you to go where the jobs are, travel. But, unfortunatley, with 2 small children, that was next to impossible.
A few years later, I met a man and after almost a year together, we got married at the Courthouse. Well that didn't last, and we were divorced before our first anniversary, I like to refer to that period of my life as my trial marriage. He turned into the husband from hell. Kinda of stalkerish.
Almost a year fromt eh divorce, I was out with some friends, and I met Adam. He lived in the Dekalb/Sycamore area. At first I wasn't interested at all. He was nice, but I couldn't really see us together. I gave him my number anyway. He was the preppy, football jock, frat boy type, and that had never been my fortay. After a couple of weeks, I had forgotten all about him, and then he called. Well we ended up going out and eventually I moved to Sycamore to be closer to him. On our First anniversary we took a trip to Niagra Falls, where he proposed. We were married a year later.
We just bought a house, and are trying to have a baby throuhg Invitro Fertilization.
