More about Patrick:"Born and raised in ESL,went to the original Alta-Sita Elementary School 3 years and later tranfered to John Robinson Elementary near Bond Ave.I had the privelege of being born at the old Centreville Township Hospital.I believe it was renamed in honor of Mr. Francis Touchette.(A fitting tribute).During this period of my life I was living in The Orr- Weathers Homes ,in the "The Flats".(You oldschoolers know what I'm talking about.On the corner of 15th& Broadway directly across Regal Package Liquors,Mr.Lees Records& 8Tracks,The Deluxe Cinema,Johnny Wongs Fried Rice,and Ben and Doris Hamburgers.I thought I would be going to Hughes-Quinn Jr. High but we moved "on up" literaly to the EastSide wher...Expand for more
e I eventually went to MLK Jr. High. I graduated in 1974 to EastSide and became a Flyer for Life.After graduation in 1977 my father passed away and Ijoined the military,which I've been associated with til this present day. I've been happily married to the same woman 26 precious years.Her name is Sharon.Mrs. Bownes(after my mom) and the best thing that could have ever happened to me. She's my rib.I was an Army cook and pretty dam good Ithink. I parleyed that into a successful Dept. of Defense job that I thank God for,not as nearly as much as I should.I've been very fortunate in life with the few friends I do have.Thank you,Mr.Freddie Wills (straight out of ParkSide).If you read this I consider you my best friend.How was I to know that 1 year out of high school I would be EUROPE 19 years of age and find you across the street in Delta Btry. You introduced me to all the right people,showed me the proper "DAP"and provided me with apiece of home while 3000 miles away from home.This was all circa.1979-1978. Turn the clock forward 11 years and who do I see walking in the food court at the old St.Louis Centre at the approximate time I arrived home from the Army.Mr.Wills this time working for the sheriff department. Now I live in Killeen,TX where I work as a cook at the Carnal R. Darnall Med. Center(sight of the tragic shooting last 5 Nov09.As I write this my story continues.".
