Patrick's Story

I now live in Alexandria, Virginia, in Old Town, not too far from Washington, DC. When I graduated from Charlotte, I left Rotonda, where I lived, and I haven't been back to either Punta Gorda or Rotonda, in over 30 plus years. I moved to Annandale, Virginia, in 1975, and later joined the Air Force in 1978, spending most of my career at the Pentagon, retiring from the Immediate Office of the Secretary of Defense in 1998. Since 1998 I have been doing promotions and marketing in the Washington, DC area, mainly sports, and have had a lot of fun. I have told my son, Brian, who's now 21, that overall, for the most part, once you graduate from high school, you virtually will never ever see most, if not any of your classmates, probably ever again. My son was lucky to have grown up in an area where he could go to elementary, middle and high school with a lot of the same people, but upon graduating in 2007, he now agrees with me, time moves on. 'Classmates.com' tries to lure people into the false hopes that we'll ALL sign up for ALL of its features, I'm merely going through this exercise to say that if you've read this, I hope, whoever you are, that you're doing well, that you've had a great successful life, and that you're at peace with the world. If you remember me, by chance, which I doubt since I really don't remember too many people myself from Charlotte, I'm on Facebook, as Patrick Malone, in Alexandria, Virginia, with my hometown as Washington, DC. Look me up if you're in the DC area. I'll tell you the best sights to see and what you can enjoy visiting Washington. Take care, and all the best! Pat Malone malonemarketing at gmail dot com PS I have a collegiate summer baseball team, the Alexandria Aces, and I had the pleasure of having CHS 2009 graduate, Dillon Vitale, play on my team. I got a big kick yelling out, at different times during the season, "Go Fighting Tarpons!"

Happy Labor Day, everyone!
Something to think about.
We saw this at the pool of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel, back in May, and it's ever so true!
Thoughts and prayers to all of the thousands of lives tragically lost in New York City, Shanksville, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon, on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
September 11, 2001 - May we never forget.

Thoughts and prayers to them all, and to those who survived but are forever wounded and scarred by the horrific terrorist attack that unfolded before us, twelve years ago, today.
May we never ever forget.
Today, we reflect. May we never forget.
Who's watching tonight's game?
Who's watching the Mayweather/Canelo fight, tomorrow night? (http://sports.sho.com/events/mayweather-vs-canelo)
I'm watching the Nats trying to beat the Phillies, and the Terps trying to hold on to beat the Huskies on the road. "Paul, your grill is on fire!"
The Terps beat UConn, 32-21, tonight, and move to 3-0.

The rain is continuing to pour down in Green Bay. "RUH-ROH!"
Right now this couldn't come quick enough!
Nats are leading the Braves, 3-0, in the bottom of the 5th.
The Nats come from behind to win their first game over the Braves, today, 6-5! http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_09_17_atlmlb_wasmlb_1&mode=box&c_id=was
