Patrick's Story

Hey everyone ... I guess that since this is ClassMates, I will start with High School ... I have a LOT of good memories from Hillcrest in Ottawa ... I really enjoyed developing (pun not intended) my interest in Photography and my layout skills working on the Yearbook ... Grade 13 was GREAT ... I had the run of the place it seemed as editor in chief of the yearbook ... had our own hole to hang out in and had lots of friends in and out of there ... I remember when CHEZ 106 really started and we listened a lot in the Yearbook room ... I left there to go into Photography at Ryerson. (the alternative was U of Ottawa for Psych ... hmmm I often wonder how things would have gone if I had done that ...) Ryerson was good ... I met my first wife there and got married immediately after graduating (May) ... actually ... (confession here) I never really graduated, missing two courses ... I really f'd off the last year ... I was involved in the Social Services a bit after that as th...Expand for more
at was what my wife did at Ryerson ... we were house parents at a group home for a bit ... I tried to get my photography business going around then ... never really flew ... I then got a job at a commercial Photo lab and eventually took over managing it. From there started a "Digital Imaging" business and got a lot of people up and running in that fledgling business. I then got a contract with Manulife on their Y2K project (remember that?) ... and from there came to Xerox ... I trouble-shoot network problems and colour problems for Xerox customers all over South Western Ontario ... I am really enjoying this career. Along the way, I got divorced and now am with my second "significant other", and with her I have my son who (at time of writing) is now in Grade 12 ... I also have acquired two daughters (my wifes from a former marriage) one of which has given me two Grandsons already! I am involved in organizing chess events and still enjoy my photography and art in general.
