Patricia's Story
I have always felt that my life has been completely fulfilled since graduation in 1960, I am truly blessed! When I married in 1961, I received a caveat from my father, that I have a trade to fall back on. Initially, I became a Cosmetologist, and later I began a career in Retail Sales, culminating in Retail and District Management. In a sense, I didn't need the trades to fall back on, as I've been happily married ever since, 48 years at this writing. My husband was an enlisted man in the Navy when we married, and retired a Naval Officer after 33 years of total service. During our marriage, we were blessed with five wonderful children, the youngest we adopted (we sometimes refer to them the original 4, with the 5th addition!). It's interesting to see the birth certificate of our youngest, as it appears that I am extremely fertile at such an advanced age (smile), as she is only 18 years old. 8, as well as two grandchildren under 18. As we were a Navy family, we have lived in numerous locations within the United States, as well as in Japan, and Italy. Having the opportunity to travel the World was something I had never contemplated in 1960. People sometimes feel sorry for the military family, as it can be difficult, but it brings out strength, self-sufficiency, and the ability to face and deal with change and adversity. I'm very proud that my children can adapt, and be comfortable in any social or business situation. I've made wonderful friends from all over the United States, as well as numerous foreign countries, and although they appear to be somewhat different, I've always been amazed at how similar we all are. We have recently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, the place we expect to stay the remainder of our days! I'd love to share my experiences with my old friends and classmates, and hear about yours.
