Pat's Story

College I returned to college when my children were in middle and high school. I attended Tarrant County Community College and transferred to a 4 year college. I graduated in December 1985 from the University of North Texas with a B.S. degree in Rehabilitation. I graduated in the top 2% of my class of 1500 with a GPA 0f 3.9 out of 4.0 and was Magna Cum Laude. I was named to the National Dean's List and made Dean's List every semester. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Rho Chi Omega Honor Society. I was awarded The Outstanding Under...Expand for more
graduate Student in the School of Community Service in May 1986. Workplace Upon graduation from college, I began a career as a medical case manager and worked for a couple of large insurance carriers. In the course of my employment I was a Certified Disability Management Specialist, and Certified Case Manager. After leaving the corporate world (I quit), I maintained case management activities on a non-fee basis and was a patient advocate for individuals who had difficulty utilizing the medical community and dealing with the insurance carrier.
