Patti's Story
For some reason I was in a hurry to graduate and get to work! I graduated before there was a 78 senior class and started working at the City Atty's office. In March of '78 I was hired by the LV Metro Police Dept as a clerk typist, then as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. I stayed there 12 years, training and then supervising. hen to HealthSouth Rehab hospital as a nurse evaluator to bring patients from acute care to physical rehab. I loved this job but it was not in the same state retirement as the other previous jobs. In September 2002 I went to Henderson PD as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. This was a smaller agency and they dispatch police, fire and medical--a good combo for my background. In July of 2007, I was able to retire with my husband of 28 years. He and I have two kids, Kristi, 27 and Ryan, 24. My daughter has 3 kids, ages 6, 4 & 1. The grandkids are a blast! We split our time between LV and Parowan, Utah (a town of 2500) near Brianhead ski resort.
