Patti's Story
I left Rosebud in September 1971, when I was a Junior. If I could do it over again, I would have stayed in Rosebud to graduate since that is the only school I call "home". I still call the high school in Travis "the new high school" since I never went to Rosebud-Lott High there; it was still in Rosebud when I attended. I moved to Irving and attended MacArthur High where I graduated with a class of 486. I would tell people that there were more in my senior class at MacArthur then there was in the whole high school in Rosebud!
After graduation I went 2 years to Kilgore College and no, I was not a Rangerette! Too Short! :) I did not receive a degree since I still did not know what I wanted to do with my life. Went to work in Marshall, Texas at McDonald, Whataburger, Ramada Inn, and Caddo Savings. The last 2 businesses I worked in accounting.
Then moved to Fort Stewart, Georgia with my mom, brother, and step-dad. My step-dad was full time National Guard and he was the National Guard Advisor to Fort Stewart.

e husband, Roger, working with him at McDonalds in Hinesville. Roger was in the Army and worked part time at McDonalds. He had opened up new McDonalds in Louisiana several time but I did not know that at the time. He had been a manager with the company for many years. He only worked about 2 or 3 months before he had to leave because of Army committments. It was over a year later that Roger and I met up again and 3 months after that we were married. That was 29 years ago!
We have 2 girls, Lacey and Brandy. Lacey has 1 son and Brandy has 3 sons and 1 daughter. I have been working civil service for almost 29 years; will eventually retire but not sure when yet.
My favorite past times are going to hear a band called Wild Horses (check out their web page on my space), playing slot machines (for real and on the computer), crocheting, reading, watching sports on TV, especially my "Cowboys", and being with my husband. I know that sounds corny, but the truth of it is I really enjoy being with him and would 24 hours a day if I could.
